UX strategy in the age of AI

Artificial Intelligence can be a strong resource. It helps speed up research, synthesis, and deliverable creation in order to provide more time for the real work: interacting with your users and applying human judgement. I am currently working on an AI Product Design & Build certification to master these skill enhancements.

However, in a world where it is now quick (and tempting) for a company to churn out a polished looking artifact, the magic of a UX strategist is to make an artifact, site, and/or app actually effective for your user and business goals, reflecting your unique brand voice and company needs.

Artificial intelligence can never replace the important role of a designer. My magic is in my human thought and knowledge, having 3+ years of experience in the field and a Master of Science in User Experience. My value lies in human judgement: when to push-back, validating and triangulating sources, applying human empathy, something a robot can mimic but never do. I learned UX the old-fashioned way, the manual way, so you can trust no touchpoint goes unchecked or overlooked.

For this reason, I do not accept ChatGPT or AI feedback on designs. As a real human designing for real humans, I value your thoughts and am here to answer your questions. I am not pro robots conversing. Humans will always come out on top.

Theft is a crime, and that is no different when digital. For this reason, if AI pictures are the last resort, Adobe Firefly will be utilized as it is synthesized from stock imagery, and does not rely on training data from artists without their consent.

Accessibility

Prompts are organized by design-process phase, spanning research, synthesis, prototyping, testing, and communication. Each one is built around five fixed components: a clear action verb, the context the model needs, a specified output format, an assigned role, and explicit constraints.

From there, prompts get iterated deliberately: reviewing where outputs came back hollow, inaccurate, or generic and tightening the prompt rather than accepting a weak result. Human phrasing is applied consistently, and iterations are never haphazardly generated to prevent wasted resources.

I have built a starter prompt library for generic starting points to be manually altered to optimally support your brand.

Prompt Engineering

Accessibility is designed in from the start, not audited in after the fact. Every design decision is checked against WCAG 2.2 AA as it's made, not reviewed in after the fact.

Testing runs on two layers: automated scanning (Lighthouse, axe DevTools) for baseline coverage, followed by manual verification, keyboard navigation and screen-reader passes, for the criteria automated tools can't catch on their own.

I look to work with individuals and companies who also support using AI as ethically and responsibly as possible. Every output designed with AI comes at a cost, and that is not lost on me.

I will not sacrifice ethical usage for my own convenience. I will go the extra mile independently, as designers have always done for years before the implementation of AI.
